About Alicia

Hello!

I'm Alicia.  Mother to the stunning Sadie, sweet Jax, mischievous McKay, and baby Andi.  Wife of patient, perfect Ben.

I'm a native of Seminole, Florida, but I currently live in beautiful Tampa, Florida.  I love Florida's sunny skies, warm evenings, and wacky residents. I spend my days jumping on the trampoline and making PB&J sandwiches for my four crazy children.  And I always have a camera handy to capture life's moments!

In my past life (pre-children), I earned a B.S. degree in Exercise Science at Brigham Young University.  Shortly thereafter I began teaching middle school science in Tampa and earned a Master's degree in Teaching from the University of Tampa.  I "retired" from teaching when my oldest child was born, 14 years ago.

MY PHOTOGRAPHY JOURNEY.....

Twelve years ago, Sarah, my photographer sister-in-law, convinced me to explore photography.  I will forever be grateful!!!  It was love at first click!  Since then I've read, researched, and been mentored by some fabulous photographers.

While I initially started in the wedding photography industry, I stepped back from it and pursued family and portrait photography while I was actively growing my own family.  Now that our family is complete I'm thrilled to be photographing weddings, elopements, and couples again!

MY PHILOSOPHY......

I love pictures that evoke emotion and capture memories - playful interchanges, laughter, and connections. My goal is to get a great mixture of posed and playful pictures with a casual, comfortable feel. I believe every picture you receive should be frame-worthy. Each photograph is edited and enhanced before you receive the finished product.  And I believe  every client should have ownership of all their edited pictures, so I include that in every package.

Life is too wonderful not to document!

Thailand Trip

Thailand1

Some of you know I just returned from an anniversary trip with my husband because I’ve been slow returning emails.  So sorry!  Poor service when you’re traveling abroad!  I thought it would be fun to share a few pictures here.

We choose Thailand as the destination for our 10 year anniversary.  So happy we did; we loved it!!!  Thailand tourism offered a lot of playful, unique, hands on experiences.   There’s something very bonding and thrilling about near death experiences 🙂  Bangkok is also well known for amazing shopping and some of  the best street food in the world.  My mom served a mission for our church in Thailand 40 years ago and I grew up hearing her mission stories and eating Thai food, my now favorite of all ethnic foods.  These reasons….beautiful beaches, fun activities, interesting culture, a childhood curiosity, great food….we were sold.

My loving parents were kind enough to watch the kids during our 10 days away.  They did great!  Special thanks to them!

Here is an overview of the journey….
