WHERE WILL MY SESSION TAKE PLACE?
You get to decide! You can view a list of my favorite locations here: Locations. Feel free to browse and see what stands out to you! Also I'm happy to provide guidance and suggestions if you are unsure.
There are 4 broad categories to choose from - beach, park, city/urban, and your home. If you know which of those categories you want I can offer several great options in the area. And I'm always open to new locations so don't hesitate to suggest somewhere meaningful to you.
We can also do two part portrait sessions: start at downtown Tampa and finish along Bayshore drive or downtown Clearwater and then the beach. It's an extra $100 for a second location but it's fun to have the variety!
I'm based in Tampa but I travel to locations anywhere in the Tampa, Clearwater, and St Petersburg area.
WHAT IS YOUR TURNAROUND TIME?
On average, you'll receive your edited images 2 - 3 weeks after your session date.
WHY ARE USBs or CDs NOT INCLUDED IS PACKAGE FEE?
If a tangible item is exchanged between the client and photographer the entire session fee becomes a taxable items. So in an effort to reduce session cost we've eliminated the exchanging of tangible items.
CAN I STILL RECEIVE A USB?
Yes! You may purchase a USB containing all edited image files for $25+tax.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING A SESSION?
I hope you'll have fun and be relaxed. Many people feel nervous at the beginning of a photoshoot and that's normal. Throughout most of our time together I will position and pose you in flattering and meaningful ways. There are moments in sessions when I invite the client to ignore me and instead talk/gaze/embrace/etc. and during those moments I don't do as much guidance, but instead, I'll capture those natural moments.
For family sessions I follow the kids' lead and stay upbeat and happy. I try not to force smiles or tell them to "Say Cheese!" If they need a break; we take a break. If the perfect posed portrait isn't working then I encourage families to play and I capture the candid, happy, natural moments. Once they relax, we try again for the posed portraits. If they still don't cooperate then we will go back to capturing their genuine expressions, moments, laughter, and interactions. I may invite you to play by tickling, tossing a child *very carefully* into the air, walking, talking, telling jokes, or making silly faces.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE SESSION AND HOW DO WE GET OUR PICTURES?
After our time together, I go through all your pictures and choose the best. I'll edit each one individually enhancing certain features, removing blemishes, smoothing skin, brightening eyes, removing distracting things in the background, and converting some to black and white. Two or three weeks after a portrait session I will upload your completed images to an online gallery where you can view and share your pictures immediately. I will also send an email with a link to download your full resolution images. You will have the print release so you're welcome to print them through a lab of your choice. You may order prints through us and that option is available within your gallery.
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BOOK?
The sooner the better! My Saturdays are usually booked 2 - 3 months ahead. However, my weekday schedule is quite flexible so if you're on tight time frame I'm often able to squeeze people in last minute. My busiest months are October and November and those months do fill up so I would recommend reserving your fall session in late summer or early fall.
For clients traveling to the area I often recommend booking a session at the beginning of your trip so if we need to reschedule because of poor weather we'll still, hopefully, be able to find a time before your vacation ends.
